For all you haters...give it to me...with relish

I know you all like to trade in conjecture when it comes to your college football and in many cases that is all we have because the teams will never play.  Let me preface this by saying..In my world TCU and Houston would have stayed with the other SWC teams in the Big 12 and we would have done without Baylor and Iowa State.  Didn't happen so now let's talk about this Texas team you all hate and are wishing ill tidings this holiday season.

1 - The computer polls need to be audited.  There are too many situations where two teams have the same record and the team with the weaker schedule is ahead in the poll.  If point differential is not a factor, how does this happen?

2 - Texas last two games have been considered poor performances and I agree, to a point.  However, they were against opponents that are very good in one phase of the game.
  • Texas A&M has been a very good team at home this year and they have consistently put up big numbers on offense when they don't turn the ball over.  They are the fifth ranked offense in college football and, statistically, the best offense of all 'BCS' conferences.  Texas beat this team in an offensive shootout at their place in a game where Texas A&M played nearly flawless on the tenth anniversary of the Bonfire tragedy.
  • Nebraska is as good as any team in the country on defense, maybe the best.  They get sacks, they shut down the run, and they don't give up any points.  They have great coaching and executed a phenomenal game plan on defense against Texas...and they lost.  Granted, Nebraska fields one of the worst offenses I have ever seen from a Top 25 team but Texas found a way to win.
3 - Everyone had close games this year but no one wants to talk about that.
  • Alabama's two close games were against shockingly mediocre opponents, Tennessee and Auburn.  They had to block two field goals in the last five minutes to survive the Tennessee game and were on the ropes against a completely outmanned Auburn team.  No one questions Bama's credentials.
  • TCU has probably had the most convincing wins throughout the year based on score but still only beat Clemson 14-10 and Air Force 20-17.  They had the good sense to have their close games early in the year.
  • Almost half of Cincy's games were within 10 points and they had to score late to win several of those.  They are great on offense but very bad on defense.  We will learn alot about them against Florida.
I know, sounds like whining from a Texas fan and maybe it is but let me say this:

JUST LIKE THEY DID TO THE UNBEATABLE, GREATEST TEAM OF ALL TIME IN 2005, TEXAS WILL BEAT ALABAMA IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

...AND THEY WOULD DO THE SAME TO TCU

...AND THEY WOULD DO THE SAME TO CINCINNATI.

So complain all you like.  Your team is not as good and it will not be any time soon.  Suck it, monkeys.
