So. When you are on top everyone wants to tell you what is better and what is next.
The next Michael Jordan...LeBron...Maybe
The next Jack Nicklaus...Tiger...Probably
The next Google...Cuil...I think not.
A few of the early employees at Google and some other really smart people started a company called Cuil. "We will re-revolutionize search for the Internet", they said. Excellent idea but I am not sure anybody was looking for that. Clean looking site. Low frills. I like that. Then I searched for something. To be fair, I am not sure what I expected. But I definitely did not like the result. Maybe I just need to get used to it and I will see the wisdom of the geniuses that built it. I will check back with Cuil periodically but encounter #1 was underwhelming.
Why is doubting Google now a favorite pastime? I don't think every little thing they say is magic but it is pretty damn good...and I think they might really believe in the 'do gooder' credo they spew. Good for them. It is nice to believe in something.
On another note, I started an implementation of Initiate (Master Data Management) at work this week. We are supposed to be finished with the first launch in November. Fasten your seat belts it looks like we might have some bumpy weather ahead.
